Marriage is extremely common in many societies and is greatly looked as the only way to raise a family and have children. However, marriage is becoming extremely uncommon among the poor, especially poor women. Instead of getting married first and then having children, poor women tend to do the opposite; having children before marriage and then hoping to get married after the child is born. This line of thinking often doesn’t work and poor mothers and their children are stuck by themselves, using only one income to survive and still living in poverty.
